The way of Jesus (part 3): 'Give and it shall be given unto you'

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.’

                                                                                                                  (Luke 6:38, NKJV)

‘Give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete, therewith it shall be measured to you again.”

                                                                                                                       (Luke 6:38, KJ21)

Jesus said: ‘ Give and it will be given to you.’

The above passage is one of the key principles of abundance. And yes, there are other principles such as ‘good management, work, and wisdom decisions’.

However, the ‘giving principle’ is a top principle to access and experience many of the treasures God has for us.

He said that through our giving, He will cause men to give to us. Sometimes, people, clients and society get hardened to give to us because we don’t give. In such a situation, only God can cause them to give by planting a conviction in their hearts.

The giving principle is the one principle where God will cause men to give to us by planting a seed of convictions in their hearts. When God seriously convicts, miracles happen and men (even unbelievers) obey His conviction.

The measure you use, will be the same measure used by those men who will give to you.

If you use a good measure (proportional to your earnings, something fair), then God will convince men to give to you by even inspiring them with a measure to give.

Receiving is a good thing but the increase comes to the giver.

Sometimes, we ought to make an audit on ourselves. We may cry, complain, struggle but how many times do we make an audit on our own ‘giving behavior’?
