HEALING A NATION (part 5): THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS
‘The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.’
(Psalms 115:15)
‘ I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, ‘
(John 14:30)
The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
(Luke 4:5-7)
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
(2 Corinthians 4:4)
In the four above mentioned scriptures, the Bible clearly points towards the existence of competing interests between men and Satan.
Psalm 115:15 says that the Earth was given to the children of men while the Scriptures also confirms that Satan is the god and ruler of this world.
There was a time where I used to think that Kings,Presidents and very influential people (e.g: music stars, sports celebrities, high level business people, large influencers…) would only get to high levels of influence on their own.
I was wrong.
The enemy has vested interests in the authority and splendor of Kingdoms of the Earth.
Authority is defined as the right or ability to enforce decisions that influence others.
The term ‘splendor’ refers to the magnificence of an appearance. In the word ‘magnificience’, there is the Latin word ‘magna’ which means ‘large’. The splendor mentioned in Luke 4:5-7 refers to an appearance that can influence at a large scale.
Satan cannot be everywhere at the same time. This is why he needs vehicles that can spread his influence at a large scale. One of those vehicles is the authority of the Kingdoms or Nations.
Be aware that authority, kingdom (or governments) and splendor (glory) are three distinct things. A Kingdom includes the border of a nation and its government. In order to have enforcement capacity, a government must have authority and in order to influence the way of life a kingdom must have some form of glory or splendor.
As an example, the United States of America is respected globally because of the level of authority that the Nation has. The USA has authority in NATO, in the IMF, in the economic system and over many things. The USA can topple a president like they did in Venezuela with Nicolas Maduro. The authority of the USA is not attached to the US government. Regardless of who enters the White House office as President, the authority remains. The USA’s authority does not go away when a US President is removed.
In the early 2000 s, President George W. Bush forcefully removed Saddam Hussein in Iraq. In 2011, President Barack Obama removed Muammar Gaddafi in Libya. In 2026, President Donald Trump removed the Iran supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
When Bush and Obama left office, the US authority did not leave with them, it remained. When President Trump will leave office , the US authority will remain.
As we currently speak, there is an American man, called Bill Gates, who is a well known business man within the tech sector. Bill Gates is a multibillionaire who has built a global empire through computer software over the past 5 decades. Bill Gates holds no political office and yet he is able to influence global health policies and government policies around the world. When Bill Gates travels in any country, he is received by the president or King of that country and yet he holds no political office but he has high levels of authority in many nations and institutions around the world. Bill Gates is not the only one and there are quite a good number of individuals who have authority over societies, politics and many other spheres of life. As a matter of fact, I know of political parties that are run by unknown and secretive billionaires. Without holding any political office, those unknown billionaires decide the policies and political programs of those parties.
Furthermore, do not think that authority is only linked with financial wealth. There are many individuals who have started movements that have dictated the direction of a nation. For example, when an individual with no political authority, manages to successfully build a movement of people who decide to act on a societal issue (e.g: immigration, education, religious oversight,ect…), that person has authority.
In the Bible, there is a famous royal couple made of a king and Queen named Ahab and Jezabel. Normally, the authority whould be with Ahab since he was a king (with a small ‘k’). However, the authority of the Kingdom was with Jezabel, yet she was not in the office of the King. In the history of the world, we have seen Presidents, Kings, CEOs, and government leaders with no authority nor any form of influence. Many of them were puppets.
I have used those examples to prove you that authority is a distinct tool separate from any political office.
Now, read again what Satan tells Jesus in Luke 4:5-7:
‘The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
Satan is not saying that he will give Jesus the Kingdoms of the world. Satan wanted to give Jesus the authority of the Kingdoms. Authority as a tool has always been something Satan has been obsessed with billions of years ago and even in the future, he will use authority through the Beast system to subdue nations (this topic will be subject to another teaching series in the near future).
In the world, there are different types or levels of authorities. For example, a dad or a mom would use parental authority for their household. In a small catering company, a catering supervisor will use his/her authority to direct and supervise the waiters, the cooks and all other members of his/her team. We find authority in sports clubs, in choirs, in small teams, in families, in businesses.
If you read the passage of Luke 4:5-7, you will see that Satan is invested in the authority of the Kingdoms. The authority of the Kingdoms is a high level authority that has influence over the other lower authorities.
In Matthew 28: 18-20, Jesus said: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
After His resurrection, Jesus returned to His disciples and confirmed that all authority in Heaven and on Earth was given to Him.
Here are a few things to mention:
First, Jesus was given all authority. He did not take it, it was given to Him. That authority could not have been given from Satan because we know that Jesus turned down the offer from Satan (ref. Luke 4:1-11). Therefore, God gave Him that authority.
Secondly, in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus said that ‘all authority was given to Him’. The difference between the authority of Jesus and the authority that Satan presents in Luke 4 is that Jesus' authority is enforceable everywhere (in Heaven and on Earth). Jesus has all authority while Satan has the authority of the Kingdoms.
Thirdly, since Jesus has all authority, He also has authority over the one who has authority of the kingdoms of the Earth.
Fourthly, Jesus delegated His authority to us, His disciples. It means that as Christians, we have authority over all things (e.g: pandemic, economic recession, hate movements, kingdoms,societies,ect…)
Authority manifestation for higher realms
First, allow me to reiterate this: ‘it is possible to manifest authority without entering a political or governmental office.’ The Apostles of Jesus received His authority and they exercised it without exercising governmental offices.
In society, there are many levels that an individual can access without God nor Satan. However, if a person wishes to enter realms of national or global levels, he/she will need the backing of either God or Satan. Realms of national level cannot be accessed by natural means.
In the story of Joseph, the Bible describes the journey of a young man going through various fortunes and troubles as he rises in society. When it was time for Joseph to rise within national ranks, the Bible mentions the presence of magicians surrounding Pharaoh. In order to access the realm of authority at national level, Joseph needed a supernatural power from God through his gift since that realm was occupied by spiritists
In the Book of Daniel, the Bible mentions that King Nebuchadnezzar was surrounded by magicians (ref. Daniel 4). Daniel was working in the highest echelon at national level and he could only be there through the support of God’s power.
Some unbelievers ,who access the realm of authority at national level, may look like they did it on their own. However, in reality, when a person enters national and/or global level of authority (in sports, politics, activism, arts, business, entertainment,ect..) , he/she does it only through Satan or God. There is no third option.
I have learned that some of the most discreet and decent unbelievers were the most deceptive. They would claim that their academic degrees and natural brilliance got them to the highest echelon of society while secretly maintaining membership in demonic secret societies and while practicing sorcery in secret.
The Agenda in High realms of authority
When a person (whether unbeliever or believer) wants to enter the high realms of authority at national or global level, that same person will receive a spiritual agenda either from God or from Satan.
This explains why some very prominent non-Christian leaders and influential people (in entertainment, in politics, sports, in spirituality, in business, ect..) defend causes or views that are anti-Scriptural ,they apply policies that favor the Beast system and the Antichrist, they introduce a very satanic culture in their art and they finance sinful and satanic behaviors.
As for Christians, in order to enter higher realms of national and or global authority, they will need to prioritise and maintain the agenda set by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20,which is: the making of disciples of all nations, the baptising of Nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit , and teaching them (converted Nations) the teachings of Jesus.
The agenda of Matthew 28:18-20, is the one agenda that will make it easy for a Christian to enter and maintain a high echelon of authority. Once a Christian loses that agenda, he/she will not succeed to remain in those high levels because the demonic opposition and fight in the highest realm of authority is extremely intense, vicious and ferocious. The Prophet Daniel was dealing with principalities of Nations and not with some low level mere witches ( ref. Daniel 10).
The Christians who enter high levels of authority without selling out to Satan are very few. I mean very few.
I have two stories to share and which illustrate my view point:
First story:
Back in the early 2000’s, there was a young handsome and Christian righteous man who was rising in the sports industry ( I won’t say which sports but sports connoisseurs will know who I am talking about). He became a world champion in his field and at the peak of his career, he was officially recognised and crowned as the best in his field. He would publicly share his faith and he was unique in his character because most sports players of his age were living the ‘fast life’ (if you know what I mean). He was known for tithing his income (millions of dollars) to his church back in his home country. His financial support to his church was supporting the Matthew 28:18-20 agenda. At a certain stage in his career, he became a global standard of what a sports authority should look like. Then, one day, he decided to stop financing His local church. The year he stopped financing his church was also the year when his career went downhill through repetitive injuries and later, the enemy even successfully attacked his personal life and his marriage. A floodgate of attacks opened against him because he was at the highest echelon of global authority and while operating at a high level, he decided to forgo the Matthew 28:18-20 agenda. Without that agenda, his protection cover was gone.
Second story:
(Again, I will not share many details but sports connoisseurs will know who I am talking about).
There was a young man, also a Christian sports player who was destined to be the best in the world. He rose to prominence in the early 2010’s. During that period, he got contracted to one of the best sports clubs in the world. During his flamboyant early career, he would promote the name of Jesus, thus contributing to the Matthew 28:18-20 agenda. At the peak of his global fame and success, he got contracted by another European club for an astronomical sum of money. However, there was a catch: ‘ the new club demanded in the contract that he never mentions the name of Jesus in exchange for extra money on the contract.’
Unfortunately the young man accepted the clause. From the year he signed the evil contract with his new club, his career went downhill through repetitive injuries.’
In the two above stories, both the Christian sports players rose to national and global levels of authority and splendor through the agenda of Christ. Then, once they got high up, they decided to depart from Christ's agenda at their own peril. The national and global levels of authority are filled with the children and agents of Satan. Those same Satanic people cannot tolerate the presence of Christians at national and global levels.
If you don’t believe me, go and check what happens to a rising Christian politician or a rising Christian Judge who attempts to enter the highest levels of national office. Check how they get treated by the world on their way to the highest levels of office….
There are great examples of Christians who maintained the Matthew 28:18-20 agenda such as Billy Graham, David Green from Hobby Lobby, Samuel Cathy from Chick-fil-A, John Rockefeller and many other individuals who are carrying the Matthew 28:18-20 agenda high on their priority list. These are and were people who prioritized Jesus’ agenda with investments that were proportional to highest levels of authority.
Those people remain examples to emulate if we want to spread the authority of Jesus over the Nations.
In conclusion, we have to remember this: ‘ as Christians, we have an authority superior to any authority the devil has over the Kingdoms of the Earth. If one believer wants to enter the highest echelon of authority in their field (e.g: in arts, sports, politics, business or any field), he/she will have prioritise the agenda of Matthew 28:18-20 in a manner that is proportional to the highest levels of authority.
If we apply the authority of Jesus to make disciples of Nations, a greater light shall shine and many fruits of darkness such as corruption, unemployment, racism, immorality, poverty, and other ills... will lose their grip over our societies.
