Revisit those old Godly ideas
There comes a time in life where we need to stop constantly generating new non-godly ideas.
In Genesis 2:16-17, God told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
In the book of Exodus, God was constantly reminding His people of where they were going: ‘in a Land of milk and honey’
When God was speaking to Adam and to His people, He was planting an idea in Adam’s mind and in the minds of the Hebrews. That divine idea was designed to stir them towards a divine direction.
However, in Genesis 3, we see that the serpent drops a new idea in Eve’s mind by convincing her to eat from the forbidden tree. In Numbers 13, some spies were sent by Moses to explore the promised Land. On their return, some of those spies decided to plant new discouraging ideas in the minds of the Hebrews by convincing the people that they had no chance to conquer the promised land.
In some cases, new ideas will be necessary. However, in many cases, it would be best to stick to the old ideas inspired by God and it would be more useful to live according to those ideas. It is not compulsory to constantly reinvent ‘all the wheels’ of life.
One of the best and fastest ways to be unhappy is to constantly act on new non-godly ideas while abandoning the original ideas given by God.
Those who have been in Christ for a while will understand the terms: ‘abandoned Godly inspired dreams’. Those ideas and dreams inspired by God could have been abandoned through laziness, discouragement or by embracing other activities and relationships that should have never been on our schedules.
I know that some of those old Godly inspired ideas will no longer be relevant… However, there are some old Godly-inspired ideas and dreams that we can revisit instead of generating new resolutions that will fail to achieve life fulfillment.
Furthermore, we should all remember that the Lord’s return is becoming more evident day by day (just watch the news around the world). Within this context, we should remember that ,on Judgement Day, we will all give an account on every idea or instructions received from God.
Believe me: ‘we will be more fulfilled when we revisit and act on some of those old Godly inspired ideas and we will have a good story to tell on Judgement Day’.
