Relationship check: 'a social asset'
Very often, I see people seeking prayers and deliverance from troubles they face while they have non-existent or very bad relationships. It is fine to seek deliverance through prayers. However, here is a question for everybody:
‘If you were to find yourself in trouble, who would you call for assistance?’
Sometimes people look for deliverance through all sorts of spiritual things while in fact they also need to tap into their relationships for solutions.
In Genesis 2:18, God said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Contrary to what most people think, the passage of Genesis 2:18 is not solely pointing towards marriage but it is a Godly opinion stating that men and women should live in a community.
Many of the problems that Christians face are simply prolonged by the fact that they choose to live as lone rangers.
Sometimes, we don’t solely need prayers to solve problems. Sometimes, we need to maintain our relationships and we need to tap into them in order to find relief and solutions.
There are people who are so good at ignoring and looking down on others, and they later get surprised when they find themselves in perpetual troubles with no sign of help.
God can help but He also acts through people. We cannot afford to neglect all our relationships.
I know stories of people living in the streets simply because they had failed to maintain their family relationships.
How often do you check on friends and family through a phone call or a message?
Sometimes, many of our troubles can be solved by the way we maintain our relationships…
The building and maintenance of relationships is not only useful for just times of troubles but also to expand our horizons.
Let us also remember that we could also be the individuals that God will use to help others who are facing troubles.
Check on somebody. Call a friend or family. Invite someone for coffee. Send a text. Greet people with a smile and find out how they are doing…invest in your relationships. Do it whether you live in good or bad times.
Those relationships can also be a social asset for your life
