THE TITHE: GOD'S CLAIMED PROPERTY (and why the enemy wants it)

Most theologians and Bible scholars are in agreement that the following passage discusses the pompous heart of Lucifer and his fall from Heaven:

“How you have fallen from heaven,

morning star, son of the dawn!

You have been cast down to the earth,

you who once laid low the nations!

You said in your heart,

“I will ascend to the heavens;

I will raise my throne

above the stars of God;

I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,

on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.

I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;

I will make myself like the Most High.”

(Isaiah 14:12-14)

In Matthew 4:8-10, the Bible mentions the following:

“Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”

Notice that in the above two passages, Satan wants things that belong to God. In the first mentioned passage, he wants to be like God while in the second mentioned passage, he wants worship.

From ancient times, Satan was always after the stuff that belonged to God.

In Leviticus 27:30, God makes an ownership claim on the tenth or tithe of the income made through economic activity.

In Malachi 3:8, God refers to the term of ‘robbery’ when people don’t bring the Tithe to Him. The reason He describes ‘a failure to give the Tithe’ as a robbery is because the Tithe belongs to Him. The tithe is God’s property.

In the history of the Bible, we see that Satan likes to go after the things upon which God has an ownership claim.

Many people have hard problems against Satan simply because they want to keep things that belong to God in their lives. As a result, Satan is always pursuing God’s property in their lives, thus causing havoc.

Many people constantly lose and waste things under Satan’s pressure because they keep God’s property. When you are unfaithful with your tithes, you are literally inviting Satan to chase after God’s property in your life.

The enemy is obsessed with the idea of having what belongs to God.

This explains why so many non-Tithing Christians make money but they never see where their money goes. They are always subject to some form of events that make them lose things.

However, when we give to God what belongs to Him, then it becomes impossible for Satan to chase after it, because he cannot take things from God's hand.

Tithing is, among other, a form of protection in your life.
