The enemy needs sleepiness and darkness to operate
‘Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did the weeds come from?’
“‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
(Matthew 13: 24-28)
The parable of the weeds has a few lessons. Among the many lessons of the parable, we can learn that the enemy operates effectively when Christians ‘sleep’. Notice that in the story, when the servants were sleeping, the enemy came to sow weeds.In other words, when Christians are inactive in their roles, the enemy sow his weeds.
The ‘sleepiness’ of the church allows the enemy to make moves.’.
In various passages, the Bible speaks about darkness as follow:
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”
(John 3:19-20)
People of darkness need darkness to operate. They hate the light because it will expose their works.
Darkness in the world occurs when the light is off. Jesus said that we are the light of the world (ref. Matthew 5:14-16). As long as Chrsitians sleep and refuse to shine, the people of darkness will thrive in their evil deeds.
If we shine through our prayers and act obedience to God, then it will be difficult for the enemy to thrive through inflation, wars, famine, pestilence, political instability, etc….
Too many Christians are sleeping on their calling and as a result, the devil places his children where the children of Light are supposed to operate.
In order to stop the madness around us, we need to shine.
