Biblical principles to adopt and maintain

The Bible is very clear: “ The just shall live by faith.” (ref. Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17)

Regardless of your personal aptitudes, as a Christian, you can't live without faith.

Since 2020, we have witnessed a deterioration in many aspects of our global society. I hear a lot of people claiming that things will get better in the upcoming years. However, in reality, things will not get better.

Even though the world will go downhill, there is hope for those who believe in the Lord Jesus. In this post, I will share certain Biblical principles that will assist many Christians in navigating the upcoming years.

The world and Satan are gearing towards ushering the Antichrist. The Antrichrist will be preceded by a ‘Great falling away’ from the faith. This can only mean that the Antichrist can only rise in an environment where faith is denied.

The Bible says: “ Faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ”

Here are key points to remember:

“The righteous shall live by faith

Faith is rooted in the word of God,

Therefore, any Christian, who denies or ignores the word of God, can not live.”
(Romans 10:17)

In order to properly navigate the upcoming years, here are few key Biblical principles which can help in overcoming the traps of the enemy:

1. Obey God (Do God’s will)

Obey the Lord, be humble, and you will get riches, honor, and a long life (Proverbs 22:4)

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land (Isaiah 1:19)

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ( John 15:7)

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." (1 John 5:14-15)

Do God’s will and when you pray, you will also receive what you asked for. Many Christians are swallowed into the world’s crisis because they never do the will of God.

If you do not know the will of God, then seek it.

Read and meditate the Scriptures everyday

It is strange how people claim that they cannot read the word of God daily and yet, they have enough time to watch tv shows and browse social media feeds for hours on a daily basis.

Even if you are busy with an occupation (e.g: job, business, etc), you should be able to spare at least 30 minutes of your day in reading the Scripture.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

(Joshua 1:8)

The above passage clearly states that Scripture reading, Scripture confession,Scripture meditation, and obedience to the Scripture are keys to a prosperous and successful.

Many Christians complain that they do not know the will of God for their lives. But how will they know God’s will if they don’t bother to read the Scriptures? How will they prosper if they never meditate and obey the Scriptures?

2. WORK!

If you are a retired person (aged above 65), then this section might not be relevant to you.

From the dawn of humanity, work has been a core mission of the human being. In Genesis 2:15, the Bible states:

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”

Any Christian , who stands against the values of work, has a demonic mindset.

"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” (Prov 14:23)

Some people are always broke because they only talk. This principle is valid for both Christians and unbelievers.

Here is a very good verse for those who are unwilling to work:

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: ‘The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.’ We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat.”

(2 Thessalonians 3:10-12)

Even if it is difficult to find a paid job, I encourage unemployed people to fill their days with volunteering activities until they find a paid job. It is very dangerous to remain idle because idleness is a door for the enemy. Usually, those who spend a lot of time in iniquity are the ones who are idle.

As we move closer to an Antichrist world, it is very dangerous to remain idle since it will likely increase levels of poverty.

If a person cannot find a paid job, let him/her find a volunteering activity or create their own entrepreneurial venture.

3. Honor the Lord with your substance

I will never stop addressing this matter.

This principle is one of the key basic principles of Biblical wealth. Many Christians attract hordes of problems in their lives for ignoring this principle.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”

(Proverbs 3:9-10)

It’s crystal clear. You can accept or you can refuse this principle at your own peril.

You Honor the LORD with your substances by bringing your Tithes and offering at the House of the Lord.

4. Honor your parents

One of the quickest ways to shorten life is into ‘dishonoring parents.’

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."

(Exodus 20:12)

By honoring our parents, we place ourselves in a position to attract health and positive life circumstances.

Many fall sick and entrapped into life threatening circumstances due to their dishonor towards their parents.

A life of honor implies relationships filled with love, respect and consideration. By materially supporting our parents we show consideration towards them in their time of need.

5.  Adopt a lifestyle of Honor

Honor is widely defined as an attitude where one shows great esteem. In the Kingdom of God, Honor is required to be given to :God, our parents, those who work hard in the Kingdom (1 Timothy 5:17-18), our marriage (Hebrews 13:4), our fellow Christians (Romans 12:10).

A lifestyle of honor brings great rewards. A lifestyle of Honor keeps the enemy very far. A lifestyle of Honor brings wealth.

6. Help the poor

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

(Proverbs 19:17)

Generosity towards the poor is necessary for the upliftment of the needy. Furthermore, those who care for the poor will also be taken care of by God.

7. Treat your wife well

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

(1 Peter 3:7)

This one is for all married men. Treat our wife well and with respect so that nothing will hinder your prayers. A married man, whose prayers are not hindered, will surely experience prosperity.

8. Save for future generations

"Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it."

(Prov 21:20)

A wise person saves for the future.A foolish person devours everything. Certain lifestyles (e.g: a life of debt, trying to ‘keep up with the Jones’) will never allow for savings provision.

"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous."

(Proverbs 13:22)

9. Serve the Lord

“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”

(Isaiah 54:17)

Nobody was born to do nothing. If God has planted gifts in his children, it also means that His children are called to use those gifts through service. The promise in Isaiah 54:17 is reserved for the servants of the Lord.

In times of crisis God will make the difference between those who serve Him and those who don’t serve Him.

The above mentioned principles are 9 principles that I constantly use. If you apply them, negative circumstances of life will not prevail against you and the enemy will stay at a distance
