A FAITHLESS ENVIRONMENT IS CONDUCIVE TO THE ANTICHRIST

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

(2 Thessalonians 2:1-4)

Before the coming of the Lord, two things will happen: “ There will be a great rebellion and the ‘Man of sin’ (or the Antichrist) will appear.”

Notice that before the appearance of the Man of sin, there will be a great rebellion. The great rebellion is a reference to the departure of many Christians from the Faith. The King James version refers to the rebellion as the ‘great falling away’.

This passage corresponds to Matthew 24:10, where Jesus said: “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other”

Have you noticed something?

Before being fully revealed to the world, the Antichrist will need an environment that will allow for his presence to be fully operational. One of the criteria for an environment conducive to the arrival of the Antichrist is ‘faithlessness’.

A faithless environment is extremely conducive to the rise of the Antichrist.

In Romans 10:17, it is written: “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”

In James 2: 14-19 , the Bible says:

“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”

Faith must be accompanied by deeds to remain alive.

A faithless environment is an environment where the word of God and the acts of faith are ignored.

Some of the first people that the Antichrist will conquer through his mark, are the ones who live a faithless lifestyle.

I have heard testimonies of people who had nightmares where they received the mark of the beast. Such a nightmare would mostly likely materialize if people live a faithless lifestyle.

The more faithless people are, the more likely they will step onto the realm of the Antichrist.

On the other hand, a life of living faith is more likely to stand against the darts of the Antichrist spirit.
