Latecomers and absentees (part 4): Believe in Jesus

In Numbers 14, the children of Israel failed to enter the promised land because of their unbelief towards God’s word. In John 14:12, Jesus said: “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

The point of departure to live a supernatural life starts in believing in Jesus. In John 1: 1-4, the Bible says:

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.’

In the above passage, Jesus is described as the Word.

Therefore, if we decide to believe in Jesus as He said in John 14:12, it also means that we decide to believe in the Word Himself.

Since Jesus is the Word, it also means that whenever I believe in Jesus, I also believe in a Word that has been spoken.

Interestingly, Jesus mentions that when we believe in Him, we will DO the works He did. Jesus never limited the term ‘belief’ to a mere acknowledgment. For Jesus,’believing’ is supposed to be followed by deeds related to what Jesus said. The problem with many Christians is in the fact that they have limited the word ‘belief’ to a mere acknowledgement while the passage of John 14:12 clearly indicates that ‘belief in Jesus’ will generate extraordinary deeds.

Here is a summary of what I wanted to say:

Jesus is the Word. Since He is the Word, He says things. If we believe in Him, it also means that we also believe Him as the Spoken Word. Therefore, we will live and do things according to what the Spoken Word says. And consequently, we will do extraordinary things.

The opposite is also true: ‘If we hold unbelief towards Jesus, we will get nowhere and do nothing’

Unbelief is One of the top reasons why many people never experience God’s will and His principles included in the Bible.

In most cases, people procrastinate on the will of God in their lives because of unbelief. They may claim to believe Jesus but that claim is only an acknowledgement. In John 14:12, Jesus is not settling for a mere acknowledgement but for a belief followed by a deed that aligns with what He said.

People apply Biblical principles (e.g: Luke 6:38, tithing, honor, love, faith, etc…) because they believe. People obey God because they believe in what God said.

The opposite is also true: ‘People don’t apply Biblical principles because they don’t believe in those principles. People don’t obey God because they don’t believe in what God said.

The more we believe in Jesus, the more we will become extraordinary.

Why did I write about this?

All the events we are witnessing such as the wars, the famine, the pandemics, the global strikes, high cost of living,ect..all those events are engineered by the children of darkness in order to usher the Antichrist.

While the children of darkness are relentlessly working towards welcoming the Antichrist, it matters that the children of lights rise up to become extraordinary to bring light and hope to a dying world.

Therefore, believe in Jesus.
