GRATEFULNESS PROLONGS YOUR STORY. UNGRATEFULNESS SHORTENS EVERYTING.

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

(Luke 17:11-19)

10 Lepers get healed by Jesus. Only one comes back to say 'thank you'. Upon his return, the grateful leper engages in a short conversation with Jesus. It was short, but a conversation nevertheless where Jesus blesses the healed man with another word.

What is one of the morals of the story?

'The 9 healed lepers were quick to ask for something but even quicker to show ungratefulness and their part in the story gets shortened immediately.
On the other hand, the grateful man gets a longer part in the story and an additional word of blessing.

Ungratefulness will cut your story short. But gratefulness will help you prolong conversations, relationships, prosperity and your life story. Ungrateful people quickly disappear in the labyrinth of times. Though it is hard to forget an ungrateful person, most of us prefer to forget them.

Just like the grateful healed leper, grateful people will have a greater part in the story of others and in the story of this world.
