''Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.''

(Proverbs 3:5-10)

There are two take-aways from the above passage:

First, do not lean on your own understanding.
And do not lean on your own understanding when reading Proverbs 3.
It is all too tempting to analyze the above passage with your own intellectual capacities...but it will not yield results.

Secondly, God tells us how He wants to be honored . We don't tell Him how He should be honored.

Honor the Lord with your wealth. Honor Him with the first fruits of your increase, and you will see His prosperity flowing in your life.
