CONFRONT OR RUN AWAY: LISTEN CAREFULLY BEFORE ENGAGING

'When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.''

(Matthew 2:13-15)

Notice that God tells Joseph to escape or run. God never told him to confront Herod.
Jesus was too small to confront the fury of Herod.

Check this out: 'sometimes your success will lie within an escape orchestrated by God.
When God says; 'confront your adversary!', then you will confront your adversary.
But when God says: 'Stay away from this fight'. then simply stay at large.
It is arrogant to take up arms and fight a battle for which God deems you underequipped. Too many people have wasted time and resources (material and emotional) because they fought battles that God never wanted them to fight.

Simply because you are a soldier of Christ, it does not mean that you must fight everywhere...
Sometimes God will tell you to:
Stay away,
Shut up,
Run,
Don't engage.
Get out,
Leave!

But if you rely on your arrogance and pride, you will certainly commit your time into wasteful fights.
It's not worth it.
If Joseph was arrogant, he would have confronted the fury of Herod but it would have been dangerous. And he would have certainly lost.

What can we learn from that?

When God tells you to confront your adversary, it also means that you have the ability to win.
And please, do not limit the term 'victory' to only worldly standards of success. In Christ, victory can also be found in persecution, in death, in martyrdom... A negative outcome, by world standard, can be a culmination of victory.

When Jesus confronted His adversaries towards Golgotha, He did get His victory in death and then in resurrection. It was hard but it was a victory. Most of the Apostles got their final victory in violent death...
And if God tells you to stay away from a challenge, it is because you do not stand a chance to win at that specific point in time.

Therefore, listen carefully to God when challenges show up.
