How to build on the solid rock
It's been a while since I have written a post and there is so much I would like to share with you…
But for now, I want you all to remember the parable of the ‘wise builder and the foolish builder’.
In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus said:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Regardless of where you live, one thing is certain: ‘we are moving towards the end times and events are accelerating.’
From the death of Pope Francis to the various trade wars and the rise of antichrists…many things are precipitating us towards the end. This means that there will be more shaking and troubles within various sectors of society.
However, if you stand firm till the end, you will be saved (ref. Matthew 24:13). And you cannot stand firm if you do not stand on the solid rock.
In Matthew 7:24-27, the troubles of this world are equated to: ‘rain, rising streams, and winds’. Those troubles will not shake if you build your life on solid rock. According to Jesus, you are building on the solid rock when you hear and apply His words.
But the people who hear His words and fail to apply them, are like the foolish builder who built his house on sand. When troubles came, the house of the foolish builder fell apart.
Many people are and will be negatively shaken for failing to apply the Scriptures. The application of the Scriptures protects you against troubles and it ‘future proofs’ your life.
Notice that in the parable, the house on the Rock was built before troubles came. This means that we should develop a culture of applying Jesus' words , not only during troubles, but even before troubles.
You cannot expect God’s full protection if you refuse to apply His Scriptures. It won’t work.
Follow the words of Jesus and apply them and you will not be easily shaken.
